Help End No-Fault Capitalism

There are four main areas we need to address in order to restore confidence in our financial system.

We need to fully investigate what happened and prosecute of those who broke the law.
We need to enact new regulations to stop the kind of wild speculation that brought our economy down.
We need to make sure regulators have the powers and resources they'll need to provide effective oversight.
We need to get rid of the "too big to fail" philosophy at the Federal Reserve. If a private financial institution is "too big to fail," it's too big to allow its creation in the first place.

Customize a message to President Obama using the sample letter and form below and ask him to help push for these four important principles.

Dear Mr. President,

The trouble our economy is in right now is the clear result of years of willfully blind regulators and reckless business practices by some of the largest financial firms in the country.

Too many of the firms we showered with TARP money are reverting right back to the same behavior that led to the collapse.  We need real change, and we need it in at least four areas.

1) It's bad enough to reward those that enabled this, so we need to make sure any firms that broke the law to do so are investigated and prosecuted appropriately.
2) We need new regulations in place that will prevent this from happening again.
3) Regulators need the resources to enforce the regulations as infractions occur.
4) For capitalism to work, there can't be any such thing as a firm that's "Too big to fail."  If it's that big, break it up.

We can't settle for jump-starting our economy -- we need to fundamentally rewire our financial industry oversight practices.
